hey people. this is sam lau once again. this post would be to better explain to u guys the "NEW" SL trip youyu was trying to tell u guys in class. for the benefit of every1, ill explain the story in full again.
the original SL trip was planned to go to sunbeam place. the reason why it was cancelled was because the home was filled with activites for the whole of june. and so now, we have changed our home to the current 1 at eunos.
target group will be different from the previous home. this time, it would be people with mental disabilities. they are people ranged from 14-30 plus of age, but their thinking would be something close to that of a 8-10 year old kid.
jacky, youyu, and me dropped by this afternoon and took a look at the place. the one "problem" that u all may face would be that they are very friendly, and they like to have close contact with you e.g holding ur arm or hand. further information on how to interact with them would be passed around to u guys later.
now on to the main activity. we have came up with 4 possible tasks to do at the home. first, would be the idea of movie/skit again. this time, the people of the home have asked us personally to come up with the theme of theft, as they said there are cases of theft within the home. therefore, the storyline would once again be somehow covered by me.
2nd activity, we have suggested, and waiting from approval from them, to actually paint on one of the walls of the home. this wall is part of a room of a library/recreational room/movie screening room. they are still asking for permission for us to paint the room, so any plans on this would be tentative. however, if u guys have any inspiration, and want to try ur hand at art, can send youyu or me the art design of the wall. (we have 2 walls to paint)
3rd activity would be relatively dry. we will be cleaning the staircase that they will be using, and also one of their storerooms. this 1 wouldnt need much explanation. just hard manual labour.
the last activity would be gardening. the home have a roof-top garden, and they have suggested to us to help them to brighten up the area. the pictures below show the condition of the garden.
as u can see, its filled with weeds and very little flowers. very dull. we are given 2 of those "circular plots of land" to plant flowers and stuff. therefore, any interested people who wanna join me (again) in picking up an "old man/old woman" hobby called gardening, can once again tell me. we will be going for lessons taught by no other master besides youyu's grandpa.
and so, those were the rough details of the new SL trip. further details will be revealed.
